I have recently come out to my friends and family and I have to say that they have all been great. I have made a few gay friends my own age and we go out onto the scene which I enjoy very much. However I have started to feel very uncomfortable when this older guy who keeps staring at me and seems to follow me and my friends where ever we go. It has got so bad that, I now make excuses when my friends ask me to go out I don’t know what I should do. Please help Tyron from Stoke.
Dear Tyron
I think you’ve been doing the rite thing by staying in if you feel unsafe. Try talking with your friends to see if they feel the same and letting them know how you feel. When going out if you do feel unsafe warn the bouncers (door supervisors) about what is going on and they should keep an eye out for you. If you still feel unsafe contact your local police station and report the incident you don’t have to give your name, just details of where you felt unsafe.
